Mommy, can we keep her??

"But I don't want to go to bed, Mimi. I want to stay up and play with you."

"I know, you'll be here when I wake up, but still!"

"You're just so much fun! And I love you so many bunches."

"You make me smile all the time!"

"And we blow raspberries at one another, and make funny faces together!"

"Mommy, can we keep Mimi? Pretty please?? I really love her!"

Once again, Chadmo is trying to trick Mimi into moving in until Dylan is 1. Dylan and I both think that sounds like a wonderful plan! She has a real knack with babies, and Dylan just thinks she is great. (And of course, Chad & I do too. :)) My days at home just fly by with Mimi to keep us company. Today Oldemor (Great Grandma Stevelt), Grandma, and Grandpoppy all stopped by at various times to visit too - our house was a happening place today! Poor Grandma is sick again, and now Grandpoppy has a cold too. So they're only allowed to step in the door, not touch anything (including Dylan), and try not to breathe on anything. We are hoping they both get well ASAP - boo on cold & flu season. Hopefully Mimi, Chadmo, Dyl & I can avoid their germs. Wish us luck!

Mimi's here!

Mimi arrived today, in spite of the snow, and as you can see by Dylan's expression below: Dylan loves her and thinks she is TOO funny! :)

More snuggling with Daddy & smiling at Mimi (who's never one for having her picture taken.)

My cutie-pies. I love them so much! It's adorable how excited Dylan gets when Chad comes home from work - she loves her Daddy.

Wheeeee! It's a Dylly-bird! (Also, we sneakily managed to get Mimi in the picture - really it's cutest of her. :))

We're so glad Mimi has finally gotten a chance to come down and stay with us for awhile - I love having her company & help (I'm scheduling all my various doctor's appointments for while she's here), Dylan thinks she's lots of fun, and we've just missed her. When Haley was here, Mimi was here all the time. Since Dylan was born, she's been busy with radiation. We're so thankful that she's done with that now (and that it shrunk her tumor at least 50%!) and that she can come down and visit us again. We're going to be soaking up the next few days of Mimi - we love her to bits!

Exersaucer Fun

Miss Dyl playing in her exersaucer. She still can't really reach everything, but she thinks it's fun anyway!

Looking at those silly monkeys that Mommy keeps making slide across the bar.

Well, the Katy-&-Greg's-House-Magic-Baby-Sleeping-Powder wore off last night. But Dylan still managed to sleep 2 4-hour stretches, and just woke up to eat in the middle and then went right back to sleep. Still, that was a short night and we were up about 3 hours earlier than usual. The one perk to this was that we got to go out to the clinic and hang out with Grandpoppy while he was doing surgery this morning. Then we came back in the house for another snack, and a nap. After our nap, and lunch, Dyl and I went out to Klingelhafer's and caught up with Susie who we hadn't seen in ages. It was a fun afternoon, and made the day fly by. Chadmo was almost home before we were!

Dylan was a bit of a crabcake today after her short night's sleep last night, but she's been SOO happy this evening. She, Chadmo, & I have been having a fun evening hanging out together. :) We are also anxiously awaiting Mimi's arrival tomorrow - it feels like we haven't seen her in ages. It will be lots of fun to have her spend the next few nights with us, and it will also be a big help to me as she's going to go to lots of various appointments with us and watch Dylan while we're there. All-in-all it should be a fun & productive week!

(I promise Dyl isn't actually bigger than I am.)

Dylan and I decided it would be fun to take our baths at the same time tonight. But then I think she was having second thoughts once she realized she was going to have to share the spotlight for pictures... ;) And of course, Forrest never misses out on bath time!

A Wonderful Weekend

Chad's & my new luggage tags, another Fritzy find. Now we just need a cute little puppy one for Dyl's suitcase. :)

Today Chad, Dylan, & I spent the afternoon at Easton - shopping & eating at Northstar Cafe (oh so, so tasty.) Katy & Greg spoiled our dogs by taking them for a walk around Worthington while we were shopping. We caught the beginning of the Super Bowl there when we stopped to pick up the dogs and Dylan decided she needed a snack break. Now we are home and happy to be snuggling in our own beds again - dogs included!

It was a wonderful weekend, but I am one pooped puppy after all our running around! Goodnight all!

A Fritzy kind of Saturday

A family picture in Fritzy Jacobs, my favorite baby store, this Saturday! (Courtesy of Aunt Katy.) Do you think we need to add this pink corduroy Bun-Bun to our family??

Dylan modeling a super awesome hot pink tutu we found at Fritzy's. I think this would be a good wardrobe building piece for her, don't you?

Dyl hanging out on Aunt Katy & Uncle Greg's new built in booth table. Chadmo and I wondering what we should have for lunch... Hmm...

Dylan is so sweet, we bet she'll be delicious! Yum! (This picture is for you, Aunt Kelly & Uncle Jesse, who always take the most fun pictures!)

We had a very fun Friday night & Saturday in Columbus. Dyl slept wonderfully at K&G's house, as she always does (we're thinking we should move in.) Saturday we went to Le Chatelaine for brunch, then to Fritzy Jacob's for adorableness shopping, to Pattycake Bakery (a vegan bakery where I had all kinds of choices to get my sweet tooth fix), to Macy's, to Aunt Kelly & Uncle Jesse's house for dinner & birthday fun for Jesse & his brother Chris, and then a group of 10 of us headed off to the OSU vs. Michigan State hockey game! Aunt Kelly won a drawing for a suite at this game, and invited us all up to enjoy the game and the awesome seats with her. It was really fun, and we all agree that the only way to watch sports is from a suite! Dylan was wonderful the whole time and thought the game, the people, and the lights were all fascinating. She and Daddy tried really hard to get on the dance cam, but no success. :( Those cameras don't know what they missed out on! Aunt Kelly took a lot of pictures from the game, and when she posts them on facebook, I will steal a few and post them on here.

We stayed at Katy & Greg's last night too, and Dylan slept wonderfully again! I really am thinking about moving in here, it's so heavenly to get to sleep through the night!

Warning: this post contains an excessive number of cute photos

This picture almost perfectly captures the adorable orneriness that is our sweet Dylly-roo. As well as any picture can, anyway.

Telling us about how much she loves bath time, especially after taking a 'bath' in apple juice today. (Doctor's orders: 1 oz of apple juice in an attempt to encourage 'movement' for Dylan after 4 days with no such luck, if you catch my drift. Dylan refuses to take a bottle of any sort - I mean, who would want a bottle when you can have a delicious boob?? - so this posed a problem. We attempted syringe feeding it to her, which resulted in a fun game of Mommy-squirts-1/2-milliliter-in-and-Dylan-spits-1/2-milliliter-out 60 times in a row. Thus, a Dylly bath in apple juice!)(Wish us luck in the 'movement' department, or it's off to the doctor's tomorrow. :()

This is what Dylan thinks of bottles, apple juice, and trips to the doctor. She has one ferocious pout lip!

Her own personal rain cloud, haha. She's trying to drum up sympathy for an indoor pool in our house when we build some day, that way she never has to get out of the water!

But really, this is mostly what our baby looks like these days... a tongue-sticker-outer! Here she is sticking her tongue out for neck washing...

...during smiles...

...even more during smiles...

...even further for even funnier smiles...

...while trying to drink her bath water...

...while getting her hair washed...

...and while attempting to gnaw on her washcloth! ;) Such a silly girl! I keep threatening her that a little bird is going to come along and pee on her tongue, but I don't think she's taking my threats seriously...

Pruney Dylan feet - a frequent site on our bath-loving-baby.

Sad to be out of the tub.

But we convinced her to smile anyway - she is SO sweet! I just love her to bits!

Dylan & I got to go for yet ANOTHER walk on another 60 degree January day yesterday! It was lovely! We walked with Grandma & Grandpoppy out by Haley's cemetery. It was beautiful outside again today, but unfortunately we couldn't pull off 4 days in a row due to lack of sleep, lack of 'movement', and needing to go to work. Hopefully it will be beautiful outside again tomorrow, Dyl will 'move' ASAP, and we can avoid the doctor's and go for another walk. Wish us luck!
