A weekend of firsts

Here's a picture of the outfit Miss Dyl wore for the Winter Carnival yesterday, not that anyone got to see much of it because she was bundled up in her snow suit, but it's awfully cute! (This outfit courtesy of Lindsey Dalton Perry - thank you Lindsey!!) A side note: we can't ever get Dylan to smile AT the camera, so we always have to have Chadmo or myself standing off to the side making silly faces while the other one takes pictures in an attempt to capture a smile - thus Dylan is always looking elsewhere in most pictures!

Possibly the cutest part of the above outfit - the reindeer on the butt! Any baby outfit with something adorable on the rear end is always my favorite!

What I wouldn't give for this picture to NOT be blurry! So sad! But it's still awfully cute, even a little fuzzy, so I thought I'd put it on here. This picture was taken this evening after we got home from a Christmas concert by a local band, The Carried, at the Lancaster Community Church. Dylan absolutely LOVED it - she just stared at the band and was totally absorbed in the music & sights. (Chad and I had a great time too!) Our friends Kristy & Travis Keirns and Katie & Derek Harden go to this church, and we saw several other friends while we were there (the Barkhursts/Siglers, the Howdyshells/Martins, the McCunes, the Crawfords, and another set of Hardens!) The band was great, the company was fabulous, and the church even had an awesome nursery with rocking chairs for nursing mothers and handy changing tables. We were so glad Heather Dickerson invited us - though we were sad we missed you there, Heather! We hope you get well ASAP!

You can see our Christmas tree off to the side in the above picture! It's about 80% decorated, once it's all the way done I'll put a picture of it up. So this weekend Dylan picked out her first Christmas tree, went to her first Winter Carnival, went to her first museum (and then a 2nd one right after), helped decorate her first Christmas tree, and then went to her first concert! She was a happy little clam and quite the trooper for pretty much all of the aforementioned activities (if only the same could be said for the late evenings - I guess we just have to take what we can get for now!) It was a lovely weekend, and quite the weekend of firsts for our Sweet Dylly-Roo-Hoo! :)

  1. She's a cutie pie in that outfit (and all other outfits, of course)! Those boots are adorable. What a stylish little baby! :)
