A trip to the zoo!

Last night Dylly requested to spend the night at Grandma's (for the first time without being prompted by someone else!) They had a fun slumber party and Blake and I had a lovely sleep-in! Then this morning we all decided we should go up to the zoo - and what a fun trip we had! It was calling for rain all day, but thankfully it held off till this evening. But the poor forecast kept the crowds away, and we practically had the zoo to ourselves! Also, it really made for lovely weather - not too hot or cold.

Grandma & Dylly checking out the AWESOME new Heart of Africa exhibit! (Blake was enjoying it too!) It's by far my favorite exhibit - you feel like you're on safari! The giraffes are breath taking.

Dylly checking out the lazy lions. That's one big cat!

Are they sure it's alive?? Maybe these are just stuffed animals...

Dylly, Blake, & me - checking out the giraffes some more.

The flamingoes are always a favorite!

We also saw a cool animals educational show where they bring the animals right up by you, and let you pet lots of them afterwards. (Dyl was able to pet a blue tounged skink, a ball python, a white rabbit, an opposum, and a turtle!) Then we went to sting ray bay where we pet sting rays and I fed them fish out of my hands! It was SO cool!

We finished up our day with a tasty dinner at Northstar Cafe and a delicious dessert at Jeni's ice cream! All in all it was a super fun day, and we are really enjoying having Grandma on summer break already! :)
