Thank goodness for handy Pawpaws!

Dylly & her best friend, Forrest, playing in their princess tent. I don't think either of them can go into that tent without the other one following along shortly!

We finally have a stair railing, thanks to a very handy Pawpaw (Dyl's new name for Poppy/Grandpa - I love it!) Here it is mid-baluster installation, he finished putting them in yesterday evening. Yay for not having to worry about small children running off the side of the stairs anymore!

Pawpaw in action. :) Thanks Poppy, we think the railing is BEAUTIFUL!

Thanks to Grandma for taking these adorable photos. I love this shot in particular. I know for a fact that she's lying there with her head resting on a certain kitty... :)

Looking out the window at Pawpaw cutting balusters on the deck. (Love those soft curls!)

Dylan & Forrest: Best Friends Forever. Who would've guessed a cat would be our most baby-friendly pet?

Our first trip to Burger King's Play Land

Please excuse the terrible picture quality. My cell phone is old and low tech. But this was such a cute photo-op, I had to use whatever camera I could get my hands on. Dyl loved BK's play area, and eventually worked up the courage to go up the twisty stairs, through the big tunnel, and down the slide (so long as Mommy followed close behind, anyway! Don't tell BK I'm older than 10. ;)) We went down the slide together, and she immediately ran back to the entrance platform for round 2! I chickened out though, worried I was going to get in trouble for being up there with her, so we headed home. It's just too dangerous for her by herself at this age, but she's going to be a complete monkey in there in a few years. :) I can't believe how grown up she's getting, she is so much fun!

Happy 93rd Birthday, Oldemor!

Dylan & her Oldemor (Great Grandma) on her 93rd Birthday! We think she is one sprightly 93 year old Grandma, and we feel lucky to have her in our lives!  Happy birthday, Oldemor!

Dylly's probably telling Oldemor how delicious she thought her birthday dinner was. Dylly ate almost a whole slice of ham and half of a piece of chocolate birthday cake! (Definitely a dinner of champions. ;))

Happy 33rd Birthday, Chadmo!

Poor Chadmo had a sad, flu-ridden birthday week. He didn't feel great on Sunday night, but got up and went to work anyway on Monday. He came home early from work on Monday, with a fever and the flu. We immediately quarantined him to the 3rd floor, delivering food to the base of the stairs and Dylly waving at him from afar, where he stayed until Friday morning. Poor guy! Thursday night his fever finally didn't return in the evening, and Friday (his birthday), he felt well enough to go to work. That was good timing because it would've been extra sad to be quarantined in the attic on his birthday! He wished for a comfort food birthday dinner (roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli) and a mocha prune cake. Poppy came over to celebrate with us, but Mom was home sick with a fever and a cold. (Is it spring yet?!?) We had a nice birthday dinner, and a lovely quiet evening. (I'm paying for our couples weekend away from Dyl with a case of mastitis, so I'm feeling a bit under the weather myself.) It was just what the doctor ordered, and the best birthday present of all was getting to see Dyl give her Daddy 4,000 hugs all evening long because she was so excited to be allowed to touch him again!  It's good to have you back among the living, Chadmo! We love you bunches & bunches! I hope you wished for 'no more colds/illness for any of us' when you blew out your candles! ;)

Uh-oh - looks like there's at least one more baby in our future! ;) This was actually round 3 of Chadmo's attempt to blow out his candles (of which there were only 24, not 33.) It was pretty funny, I think he only managed to blow out about 4 on his first attempt and Poppy's immediate response was "You can't have that many kids!" Don't worry, we will definitely not be the Duggars!

My 2 cutie-pies. :) Dylly's thinking "Enough with the pictures, let me at that frosting!"

Dog pile-up on the couch during our evening of Guillotine & Cribbage after Dylly went to bed. Somethings never change. :)

Birthday cribbage - the birthday boy kicked my butt at both Cribbage & Guillotine!

Tucker-momo. My apricot poodle turned quite white, I can't deny it anymore. He's a good boy, even if he's terrible. ;)

Weekend at Grandma & Grandpa's!

Dylly spent her first whole weekend at Grandma & Grandpa's! She had lots of fun, and Chad and I had a fun & relaxing couples weekend at a cabin with our friends. A HUGE thank you to my parents for keeping our busy girl all weekend - we wouldn't have been brave enough to leave her with anyone else & we know she had a great time with you!

Here are a few picture highlights from the weekend. :)

Hanging out and looking at the pictures in the stairwell. So cute!

She's literally a monkey! Climbing on everything - and climbing out of her crib for the first time this weekend! Whoever dreamed of a toddler bed at 17 months old??

Trying out Grandma's glasses.

Looking scholarly, and oh-so grown-up. Where did my baby go?

It was incredibly hard not to be able to smooch those cheeks all weekend. Coming home was maybe the best moment of my life. Dyl saw Chad & I walk in the door, and immediately started happily squealing "Mama! Daddy! Mama! Daddy!" and then ran into my arms. Life just keeps getting better & better. We love you to bits, Dylly-roo!
